Description
The balustrade located about 50 metres west of Dodington House is an early 19th-century structure made of limestone with a vermiculated sandstone plinth. It consists of three sections: a central section that is approximately 30 metres long and two outer sections that are each about 3 metres long, all standing around one metre high. The central balustrade is divided into five sections by pedestals that feature recessed panels on both the front and rear, with a shaped top and moulded coping over the balusters. Each of the outer balustrades has a similar pedestal on either side. This balustrade is an important feature of the main approach to the west front of Dodington House.
