Description
The Wetmore monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 9 metres south of the nave of the Church of St. Oswald. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge, lyre ends, and oval panels on the east and west sides. There are inscription panels in shouldered architraves on the north and south sides, with decorative bosses in the corners. The monument commemorates Thomas Wetmore, who died in 1797, along with other family members.
