Description
This 17th-century dovecot is located about 60 metres west of Moat House in Pucklechurch. It is constructed from limestone rubble with brick repair work and features quoins on the southwest and northeast corners. The dovecot has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high, topped with a double Roman tiled roof. The north elevation includes two bow segmental headed openings, while the rear has a hood mould and a timber lintel that remains from a blocked ground floor opening, with buttresses on both sides. Inside, the structure is open to the roof, which consists of three bays supported by a tie-beam, collar, and two rows of purlins. The walls contain pigeon holes and perches all around.
