Description

The Perry monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 metres south of the tower of the Church of St. James the Great. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and engaged quarter columns that have shaft rings. There are paired inscription panels on the north and south sides, adorned with a cross, an hourglass, and other symbols. The monument commemorates Joseph Perry, who died in 1815, along with other members of the family.
