Description
This is an 18th-century chest tomb located about 7 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. James the Great in Wick and Abson. It is made of limestone and features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded base. The east and west sides have panels with corner pilasters and a central oval, both adorned with elaborate scrolled foliate carving. The north and south sides also have large ovals with similar carving and a cornice. The inscriptions on the tomb have worn away, but the quality of the carving is high.
