Description

The Mallet monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. Oswald. It dates from the mid-17th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and heavy moulded ribs that divide the inscription panels on the north side, which display worn lettering. It has a moulded plinth and commemorates Thomas Mallet, who died in 1647, along with other family members.
