Description

The Yews is an early to mid-19th century extension to a later 18th century house, situated on Deanery Road, near Kingswood. The extension is in the form of a parallel range to the front of the original building. It is rendered with pantile roofs and has coped verges, with several footstones topped with pyramidal finials. The extension is two storeys high and originally had two windows, although these have been altered. Gables are present over two of the first-floor windows; the right-hand gable is original and slightly set back, while the left-hand window is tripartite. A range of older windows remains on the right-hand side. The entrance features a pedimented doorpiece. A pointed light is situated on the east side of the porch break, on the first floor, and an arched light is below. The rear of the property forms an ā€˜L’ shape, which is partially concealed by a lean-to supported on squat columns.
