Description
Ring o'Bells Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1858, which may include parts of an earlier building, and has 20th-century alterations and additions. The structure is made of limestone rubble with stone dressings and projecting quoins. It features double Roman tiled and slate roofs with raised coped verges, kneelers, and gable stacks. The building has an L-plan layout, is two storeys high, and has three windows, all of which are 6-light with square-cut mullions and a transom. There is a central gabled porch with a datestone, a door with raised fillets, and an overlight.
On the right side of the building, there are two attic windows, each with three panes. The main house has a two-span roof and a lower two-storey rear wing. The gable end on the left has a ground floor 3-light casement window with ovolo mullions and a dripstone, a similar 2-light window on the first floor, and an attic window. On the right side, there are two windows on both the ground and first floors, all of which are 2-light 19th-century casements with chamfered mullions, hood moulds, and relieving arches. There is a 4-panelled and glazed door to the left, with a similar window on the first floor at the rear. The left side of the main block has one ground floor and one first floor similar window, as well as two similar attic windows. The gable end of the rear wing features a ground, first, and attic window like those on the right side, and there is a single-storey addition to the wing with two 20th-century doors and a central window. The interior has not been inspected.
