Description
The farm buildings to the north of Stanley Farm are a courtyard of model farm structures built around 1860. They were likely designed by G. Godwin, who was the editor of "The Builder," for the Duke of Beaufort. The buildings are constructed from rubble with freestone dressings and feature hipped slate roofs. The courtyard consists of single-storey sheds, with the front range showcasing a central transverse gable entry that is one very tall storey high. This entry has a two-centred arch with quoins that rises above the ridge of the adjacent flanking ranges, which are adorned with trefoils on either side of buttresses that have sunken cusped panels. The other three ranges are more straightforward in design, with simple internal openings.
