Description
This is a wall located about 200 metres west of the stable block attached to the south of Dyrham House, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of limestone rubble with stone dressings, measuring approximately 70 metres long and 2 metres high. The wall features a rubble structure topped with stone coping. At the southern end, there is a low retaining wall that includes a drain for the lakes. The wall contains three round-headed ashlar recesses spaced at intervals, each flanked by pilasters. The impost blocks of these recesses continue as a band course around the back and feature a projecting keystone. The wall is built in an arc between the two outer recesses.
