Description
This is a section of a former perimeter wall located to the east of the Master Ropemaker's office in Devonport Dockyard. Built in the late 18th century, the wall is constructed of limestone rubble and features a tall coped design with interval buttress pilasters. It extends approximately 60 meters in a north-northwest to south-southeast direction. This wall was part of the dockyard's perimeter when it was expanded in the late 18th century and played a significant role in the security of the dockyard, marking the extent of the late 18th-century facility.
