Description
Mutton Cove Harbour and Pier consists of harbour walls and pier walls, likely built in the late 18th century, with the pier dating from the early to mid-19th century. The structure is made of stone rubble, featuring large blocks and dressed granite copings and steps, along with iron bollards and stanchions. The original harbour is enclosed by retaining walls on three sides, and includes a stone jetty that extends for about two-thirds of the seaward side from the east. Additionally, there is a later T-plan stone pier that projects seaward to the east. Both the harbour and the pier have recessed flights of steps, and the pier is equipped with many original cast-iron stanchions and a surface made of granite setts.
