Description
The railings, piers, and gateway to Kings Hill Gazebo were constructed in 1822 and are made of cast and wrought iron. The gate piers are formed by a pair of inverted muzzle-loading cannons inscribed with "GR." These piers are connected by an overthrow that features a gilded finial. The decorative gate has curved sides and a central oval, flanked by wrought-iron railings that extend approximately 10 meters up the path to the Gazebo, which is also notable for surrounding a central fountain on top. This structure is an integral part of the Kings Gazebo, built to commemorate the visit of George III, who requested that this remnant of the former topography of the Dockyard be preserved.
