Description
These are granite gate piers located south-west of Belmont House. Constructed around 1820, they were designed as part of the landscaping for the nearby house, which was designed by John Foulston and built for John Norman. The piers are made of rusticated granite, featuring plinths and pyramidal capstones. Two taller central piers mark the carriageway, while narrower pedestrian gateways are positioned on either side. Modern gates were installed in the 20th century.
