Description

The former Royal Naval Hospital landing jetty, built between 1758 and 1765, was designed to bring patients ashore from their ships. It is part of the original scheme for the Royal Naval Hospital and features rusticated granite ashlar walls with granite setts on the surface. The jetty has a long rectangular shape that projects into Stonehouse Creek, which has since been infilled and is now used as a playing field. This structure is an integral part of an outstanding and complete military hospital complex.
