Description

The remains of Plymouth Castle are located on Lambhay Street in the Barbican area of Plymouth. These remnants are likely from the 14th or 15th century and consist of a rubble wall approximately 3 meters high, built on bedrock. The structure features a short length of very thick wall with a central semicircular projection, which is the remains of the right-hand flanking turret of the west gatehouse. The site is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
