Description

No. 31 New Street is a town house that has been converted into a restaurant. It likely dates from the early 19th century and may be a remodelling of an older building. The exterior is made of painted stone rubble and features segmental brick arches, topped with a slate roof and a stump of a stack at the rear. The building has a single-depth plan with a rear wing and stands three storeys high, displaying a two-window range. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded glazing, and there is a wide doorway on the left side. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value within a street that contains many fine 17th and 18th-century houses.
