Description
No. 22 New Street is a warehouse converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century, which incorporates a wall from an earlier building. It is constructed from Plymouth limestone rubble with dressed or selected quoins and features shallow segmental arches above the openings. The roof is hipped and covered with concrete tiles, and it has projecting eaves. The building has a deep plan and stands four storeys high, with a three-window range that includes 20th-century windows in the original openings. There is an original ventilator with crossed iron bars located to the left of the centre on the ground floor. The ground floor also features a wide doorway and loading doorways above, both positioned to the left of centre. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value in a street that contains a significant number of 17th and 18th-century houses, as well as some notable warehouses.
