Description
Great Woodford Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the 18th century, possibly a remodelling of an older house. It features rendered rubble walls and dry slate steep hipped roofs. The building has a large lateral stack with a tall brick chimney on the rear left and another tall brick stack on the right. The original part of the farmhouse has a two-room plan with a central entrance passage that leads to a rear stair wing. There is also a slightly later rear service wing at right angles behind the stair wing, along with some later rear extensions. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical five-window front. The windows are late 19th century or early 19th century 16-pane hornless sashes. The central doorway is set within a large 20th-century glazed porch with small panes. Inside, some panelled doors and an 18th-century staircase were noted during a partial inspection.
