Description
Farmhouse. It was likely built in the 18th century, with alterations in the 18th and early 20th centuries. The exterior is built of stone rubble, with the front covered in climbing plants; the roofs are dry slate laid in diminishing courses. The taller roof on the right has half-hipped ends. There are tall rendered stacks: one at the left end, two behind the right-hand part of the front range, and end stacks to the rear range.
The house likely started as a three-room plan with a through-passage, probably with a hall to the right of the passage. It was extended in the late 18th century by raising the roof at one end, adding a parallel range behind, and later an outshut behind the lower left-hand side.
The front of the house has two storeys and is arranged as a 2:3-window range. There are wide window openings with early 20th-century three-light, diamond-leaded casements to the lower part of the front, and a wide doorway on the right with an 18th-century flush-panelled door with early 20th-century diamond-leaded glazing in the top three panels. The taller range on the right has four windows grouped on the left and two windows on the right side of a pilastered porch with a moulded entablature and early 20th-century leaded glazing. The rear of the two-storey wing has a four-window range with original or early 19th-century twelve-pane, centre-hung casements.
The interior was remodelled in the early 20th century, and visible features date from that period.
