Description
The barn located south-east of Little Woodford Farmhouse is a large threshing barn, likely built in the late 18th century. It features walls made of killas rubble and has a dry slate roof with half-hipped ends, arranged in diminishing courses. The barn has a large rectangular plan and stands two storeys high with a low ground floor.
Under the eaves, there are pigeon holes, and on the left side, stone steps lead up to a loading doorway that has a 20th-century hood. To the right, there is a taller wide threshing doorway with a wide slate-roofed hood. The doors are ledged, and the threshing doors are split for ventilation. Additionally, there is an oak lintel over a low ground-floor doorway on the right, which features a slatted door, and four later small ground-floor windows that are set under segmental brick arches.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to still have its original roof structure.
