Description
The gate piers, located approximately 550 meters southeast of Saltram House, date from the 18th century and were originally part of the carriage entrance to Boringdon Hall. They are made of rusticated granite ashlar and feature plinths, moulded cornices, and shaped caps topped with ball finials. Each pier is square in shape and has a low ramped buttress on its outer side. Additionally, each pier includes a half-domed niche on its front side. These piers are similar to two other sets associated with Boringdon.
