Description
The Kings Head Public House is a public house located on Bretonside in Plymouth. It dates back to the 17th century but was remodeled in the late 19th century. The exterior features a rendered studwork or brick front with a tall parapet that conceals a steep asbestos roof, along with two parallel hipped roofs at right angles to the rear. There are brick end stacks and a truncated rubble lateral stack. The building has a single-depth plan that was extended at the rear.
It stands three storeys high and has a four-window range. Most of the windows are late 19th-century horned sashes, and there are doorways on the left and right with panelled doors. At the rear, there is an early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash window. Inside, the front bar area features three visible 17th-century moulded cross beams.
