Description
The gazebo, dating from the 17th century and reroofed in the 19th century, is constructed of rubble and stud, and was formerly rendered with a pantile roof. It is a single room measuring 2.5 metres square, located on a terrace. The northern entry facade now shows only remnants of the stud wall with a moulded door frame. The west stud wall has collapsed, exposing the rear of a later inserted rubble wall. The east wall features an ovolo moulded transmullioned timber window, with the lower half blocked. The south wall, which faces the road, stands 4 metres high as part of the terrace wall and has fragmentary remains of a similar blocked window and a lower blocked opening. Inside, there is a panelled 17th-century privy seat. The terrace wall supporting the gazebo extends westward at a height of about 2.5 metres for approximately 50 metres, reaching the junction with the west garden wall.
