Lower Caswell House is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of rubble with a pantile roof and has rubble stacks. The building stands two storeys high with attics and features three bays. The ground floor has 2- and 3-light 20th-century casement windows set under exposed lintels, along with thin dripmoulds. A central 20th-century door is flanked by a projecting gabled porch. At the rear, there is a projecting square stair tower and a continuous stringcourse that runs along part of the rear elevation. Inside, the right room on the ground floor has ovolo and hollow moulded beams with converging stops. The chamber above features an arched fireplace with an ovolo moulded lintel and converging stops.
