Description

The Town Market Hall is a very unusual rectangular market hall built by the local architect Hans Price, who also designed the shore buildings of Clevedon Pier. The main structure is made of masonry, featuring glazed walls between the corner piers. Surrounding the tile ground floor are lean-to wooden and brick extensions. Both the extensions and the main hall roof are covered with slates and have oversailing eaves. The eaves of the main roof are supported by carved brackets. At the apex of the roof, there is a miniature hipped slate roof adorned with cresting and finials. A square lantern with blocked windows, a pyramidal top, and a weathervane rises above the structure.
