Description

The east cloister wall at Woodspring Priory is a Grade I listed structure dating from the 15th century. It is constructed of rubble and stands 4 metres high. The wall features buttresses with weathered capping on the west side and inset gargoyles. At the eastern end, there are corbels that supported the roof members of the cloister. The south end includes the remains of a circular stair turret with a moulded arched doorway. At the north end, there is a doorway with a four-centred head and a double ogee surround that has large stops, along with a later porch featuring an outer chamfered doorway.
