Description
The Infirmary, dating from the 15th century, is constructed of rubble with a pantile roof. The north elevation features two 2-light transomed perpendicular windows and a later segmental archway. The east gable is blank, while the south elevation has one window similar to those on the north and a recess for a stair turret. The west end includes a smaller 2-light window above a pointed moulded doorway, which is set beneath a hoodmould. The roof is built using arch brace collar beam construction, supported by three rows of windbraces. A 19th-century restoration removed the archway to the south chapel. In the 20th century, repairs included the addition of a concrete brace at the wall plate, steel brackets to the roof, and the rebuilding of the east gable.
