Description
Locking Head Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the late 17th century, although it is mainly from the early 19th century. The building is rendered and features a double roman tile roof with raised coped verges. It has two storeys and an attic, with three windows on the front. All windows are positioned under long stopped dripmoulds. The ground floor includes four-light mullion and transom multi-pane casements, while the first floor has similar windows but without transoms. The central entrance is a nine-panel door, with the top three panels glazed, and it is located under a flat hood supported by ornate brackets. The attic features a single central gabled dormer with a two-light casement. The east gable has various casements on all floors, while the west gable has two two-light casements in the attic and a porch to the left with a hood at the front. At the rear, there is an extension under a catslide roof and a further parallel range of single-storey outhouses. Inside, stopped chamfered beams are visible in the rear.
