Description

The More Family Monument is located in the churchyard, 20 metres southeast of the Church of All Saints. This early 19th-century monument commemorates the five More sisters: Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Martha, and Hannah. It is made of sandstone and features a large, low-lying three-tier slab with a cyma recta second stage and a slightly coved top section. The names are inscribed in italics. Hannah More, a noted social reformer, passed away in 1833 and lived at the nearby Barley Wood.
