Description

Cider Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was remodelled in the 19th century and altered in the 20th century. Three datestones, marked 1616, 1740, and 1926, are set into the porch. The farmhouse is rendered with a double Roman tiled roof and brick stacks. It has two storeys and five bays, featuring 2-light 19th-century casement windows, a 1:2:1-light 19th-century bay window on the left side with trefoil heads to the lights, and a centrally positioned gabled projecting porch with datestones and a plank door. The interior has been extensively remodelled, but some features from the 17th century remain, including stop-chamfered beams and the overall layout. A notable feature is the 18th-century raised and fielded panelling on the gable end fireplace wall of the left (west) room. Seven of the panels are painted, with two depicting bowls of currants or cherries and five illustrating hunting scenes.
