Description

The Old Rectory is a detached house with a probable early 17th century core, featuring alterations and additions from the early 19th century and around 1867. The original section is built of random rubble with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, stone copings, lias headers to the openings, and a slate roof. The 1867 wing on the right side is constructed of squared and coursed rubble, also with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, ashlar window surrounds, and an angular double Roman tile roof.

The early range has two storeys and three windows, showcasing a mix of early 19th century sash glazing, mostly with 16 panes, set under segmental heads. There is a central door with marginal glazing and a lower plank section. The 1867 wing is also two storeys high and features chamfered four-light cross mullions, with those on the upper floor positioned under relieving arches. A pointed arched doorway with a plank door is located in the east wall. The interior includes a ground floor room on the left that has a moulded Tudor arched fireplace and a reset Tudor arched window surround.
