Description
Regilbury Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, which was enlarged in the 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rubble and is rendered, featuring a plain tiled roof with raised coped verges, brick gable stacks, and a stone ridge stack. Part of the rear roof is covered with pantiles. Originally designed with a through passage plan, the farmhouse has two storeys and five windows, all of which are 6-pane sashes with a wider central pane on the first floor. The ground floor has three similar sashes, and the second bay from the left features a 20th-century gabled porch with a panelled and glazed door. To the right of the porch is a 2-light casement and a 20th-century door, along with an attached single-storey pantiled lean-to. The ridge stack is likely positioned on what was formerly an external wall, with three bays to the left being of earlier construction.
On the left return, there is a small single light window with 19th-century stained glass at the ground floor right, which lights a fireplace. A 20th-century flat-roofed garage is attached to the left, and a two-storey rear wing features a 2-light casement under the eaves. The rear of the farmhouse has, to the left, a door and two 20th-century windows at ground floor level, with two 19th-century 2-light casements on the first floor. A central 19th-century two-storey addition has two 2-light casements on the first floor and a combination of a 2-light and a single light window at ground floor level, with a stack to the right. There is a pantiled catslide roof over the addition to the right, which includes two 3-light casements with segmental heads and a central plate-glass window on the first floor.
Inside, the farmhouse was originally one room deep. The room to the left features very heavy beams with all profiles chamfered, a 2-light stone casement with an ovolo mullion on what was the former rear external wall, and two wide stone fireplaces in the end wall, each with a chamfered surround and a 4-centred arch.
