Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century addition on the left side. The building is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring large dressed stone blocks for the window openings and quoins. It has wooden lintels, some brick headers in the 19th-century addition, stone copings, and a triple saw-tooth Roman tile roof. The farmhouse is two stories high and has a four-window front facing north-west. The 17th-century section includes three-light oak ovolo-moulded mullions with small leaded pane casements, while the 19th-century extension has two-light casements and one fixed small pane window. There is a central lean-to porch supported by wooden piers, and the entrance features a four-panel door with a moulded architrave, where the top two panels are glazed. On the right side, there is a stone stack with a brick cap, and on the left, a brick stack. Inside, the ground-floor right-hand room has chamfered beams, a newel staircase in the south-west corner, and a buffet niche. The central passage is paved with stone flags, and there is a fine oak plank door.
