Description
Icelton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, which was extended and refronted in the early 19th century. It features roughcast walls and a double Roman tile roof with raised coped verges and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and three windows, with an additional window in the extension to the right. All windows are 2-light casements, and those in the extension have cambered heads. There is a 20th-century door located off-centre to the left, leading to a timber lattice porch with a tent hood. A three-stage buttress is present on the left side. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with one window. Inside, the principal room to the right of the passage boasts a fine early 17th-century fireplace with moulded freestone jambs and a large moulded shallow arch timber lintel. The site of a winder stair is visible, and the interior features stopped chamfered beams.
