Description
Hollyhedge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of limewashed random rubble, featuring wooden lintels, stone copings, and double Roman tile roofs. It has an L-shaped plan with a through passage and is two stories high, presenting a three-window south front. The ground floor has small leaded pane 19th-century casements with flat hoodmoulds, while the upper floor features two-light small pane casements. The central doorway is fitted with a 20th-century plank door, and there are stone stacks at each end. The rear gable end includes a three-light ovolo-moulded mullion with a hoodmould. Inside, there are several stop-chamfered beams and an inglenook fireplace in the left-hand room, which has fluted carving on the lintel. The right-hand room also has an inglenook with three ceiling hooks, likely used for bacon curing.
