School, now disused, and school house. 1856 for William Gibbs of Barrow Gurney. Coursed rubble with freestone dressings; slate roof with coped raised verges and finials; rubble and ashlar stacks. In a free Tudor Gothic style. To the south is the school room of 2 bays. Gabled projecting porch with angle buttresses; plank door with strap hinges; moulded surround with 4-centred head. To the left is a 3-light cross window with ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds; to the right of the porch is a single storey section with a 6-light king-mullion window. The south-east gable end has angle buttresses; a 4-light cross window with ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, under a square dripmould with carved head stops; above is a pierced quatrefoil light. The school house is to the north-west and projects as a gabled cross wing. 2 storeys. 1:2:1 light bay window with ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds; pierced parapet; continuous string course over ground floor. Projecting section to right; plank door in moulded surround with a 4-centred head. The north-west elevation is symmetrical, of 3 bays, with the centre advanced; each bay is surmounted by a steep coped gable; 3-light cross windows on the ground floor, 2-light casements on the first.
