Description
The building is a summerhouse, specifically the main building of an estate lodge, dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with freestone dressings and features a hipped clay tile roof adorned with bands of scalloped tiles. The building has a stone axial stack with red brick shafts.
The plan is T-shaped, and it is a single-storey structure. The south front is symmetrical with three bays, where the center is a projecting wing that features a stone three-light bay window. The windows have ovolo moulded two-light stone mullions, and on the right side of the wing, there is a moulded stone door frame that holds a panelled and glazed door. There are also three-light stone mullion windows on either side of the wing.
The interior has not been inspected. This summerhouse is a notable example of a late Victorian lodge and is part of a series of estate buildings located at Tyntesfield Park.
