Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, with an early 19th-century extension. It is constructed of roughly coursed granite rubble and features a slurried scantled slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has an L-plan layout with a rear right wing and stands two storeys high, displaying a three-window range. Granite lintels are present over late 19th-century horned 2/2-pane sash windows. The right gable end features a granite lintel above a late 19th-century half-glazed plank door. The rear right wing is a single storey with a hipped roof and an end stack that includes a drip course. There is also a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at an angle to the main range. Inside, the rear wing contains a 19th-century fireplace with a bracketed overmantle, and the 19th-century wing features moulded cornicing. The property is included for its group value.
