Description
Peninnis Head Lighthouse is an automatic lighthouse built in 1911. It features a cast-iron and steel structure. The lighthouse consists of a three-storey tower topped by a fourth storey light. The base is circular and supported by two-storey openwork canted stanchions with x-frame ties, providing internal ladder access. The third floor is canted and has riveted metal sides with a porthole opening. The gallery is surrounded by metal railings on brackets. The door to the light storey has "V"-profile glazing and is topped with a circular roof that features a circular finial.
