Description
Bridge Farm House is a detached farmhouse dating from the early to mid-17th century. It features rubble stone walls, with the front wall being roughcast, and has a slate roof supported by one brick and one stone end stack. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a later single-storey lean-to added at the rear of the main range. It stands two storeys tall and includes a glazed door. Both the ground and first floors have two casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. There is a tiled-roofed lean-to at the left end of the house.
Inside, both ground floor rooms are equipped with large open fireplaces that have stone jambs and timber lintels. The ceilings feature several chamfered beams, some of which are deeply chamfered. The rear wing was likely originally used as a dairy, with a cheese loft above. The probable original front door is now located at the rear; it is a vertical battened type with cover fillets and large strap hinges.
