Description
Corner Cottage and the premises of R S Clarke consist of three cottages dating from the 17th century. The buildings are constructed of rendered brick and rubble, with possible timber framing, and feature slate roofs on two of the cottages and a corrugated asbestos roof on No 1. There are brick end stacks and a jettied front. No 1 is two storeys tall, while Nos 2 and 3 are one storey plus an attic. The cottages have a four-window range. No 1 features four sash windows with vertical glazing bars and a six-panel door with two lights. No 2 has an added brick canted bay with glazing bars, and the dormer contains a two-light casement with leaded lights, along with a plank door. No 3 also has an added brick canted bay with sash windows and glazing bars, and above the dormer is a three-light wooden casement with leaded lights in the four outer panes. Additionally, No 3 has a later wing at the rear and an early 19th-century door and frame with two lights.
