Description
Rosemary Cottage, Ryme Cottage, and the east wing of Floracre are a row of cottages located on Yeovil Road, dating from the 18th to the 19th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble and feature thatched roofs. Rosemary Cottage has two window bays with small 2-light casements, the lower ones having segmental heads. It includes a porch with a modern half-glazed door and has a roughcast front. Ryme Cottage also has a thatched roof, with three small casements above and two below. It features a half-glazed door on the right with a modern segmental corrugated hood, and a modern porch with a half-glazed door on the left. The east wing of Floracre has a modern plaintile roof, with two small 2-light windows above and a 2-light window below, alongside a wooden gabled porch to the left. These cottages, along with Barton Farmhouse, Barton Farm Cottage, the garden wall to Barton Farmhouse, Cliff House, Smithy, and the west wing of Floracre, form a cohesive group.
