Description

A row of ten semi-detached cottages, likely dating to around 1840 but with a datestone of 1863. The cottages are built of rendered stone with ashlar dressings and a stone string course, and have hipped slate roofs with end stone stacks. They are arranged in a row and form ranges. Each cottage is two storeys high and five bays wide, built in a Tudor style. They have stone mullioned, flat-headed windows with square labels and inwardly opening metal casements. Bays 2 and 4 feature stone door surrounds with four-centred arches. The original doors to numbers 1, 2, 3, 9, and 10 have been blocked. Later windows have been inserted into the end ranges of numbers 3, 8, 7, and 6. Number 7 is thought to retain its original door. Stone flags are set into the pavement in front of the doors of numbers 2, 3, and 4.
