Description

Phylvic Lodge, formerly known as Cliff View, is an L-shaped red brick building from the 18th century, dating from after 1731, though it has undergone many alterations. It features a hipped roof and has rusticated quoins and keystones. The building includes two splayed 19th-century bays on the ground floor and a 19th-century porch with pilasters, an entablature, and a round-headed doorway, although the door itself is modern. The garage section has a large round-headed window facing south and was once used as the Assembly Rooms. The west side has a modern window above and a modern garage front below. The building is listed for the significance of its south elevation, which reflects the former Assembly Rooms, and for the 18th-century portion of Phylvic Lodge.
