Description

This is a pair of red brick buildings, number 86 and 88, located on the east side of Salisbury Street, and they adjoin each other. They date to the early 19th century and are notable as a relatively uncommon example of an early 19th-century style in Blandford. The buildings feature a stone or stucco cornice and parapet. The ground floor windows and doorways are similar to those of number 76 Salisbury Street. A blind Venetian window sits centrally on the first floor, above which is a three-light window with a segmental head, the central light being blind. The remaining windows retain their original glazing bars. The buildings have six-panelled doors; the top two panels of the door at number 86 have been cut away and glazed, and both have semi-circular fanlights above. Numbers 70 to 88 (even) form a group.
