Description

Rose Cottage is an early 18th-century single-story cottage located in School Lane, Wootton Fitzpaine. The cottage has rubble walls with stone quoins and a thatched roof with gable ends. It features two brick stacks, one at the right-hand gable and one at the former left-hand gable. The cottage has two storeys and originally had three windows, all wooden casements with three lights, wooden cills, and glazing bars. One window has been replaced with a metal-framed window of two lights. A 20th-century porch with a 20th-century front door and a pentice roof has been added. The cottage is documented in "RCHM Dorset I," page 267.
