Description
Hogchester Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features lias stone walls that are rendered, with an 18th-century brick extension in English bond on the left side. The roof is tiled, with a half-hip at the left and a full hip at the front right. There is a 20th-century brick stack on the left and an 18th-century brick stack at the right eaves. The eaves line is higher on the right, indicating a separate construction. The building has two storeys and approximately four windows, which are wooden casements with two lights and segmental arches above. The front door is a plank door with one glass panel. There is also a door at the rear, on the northeast side, which enters at first-floor level and features massive Blue lias jambs. Inside, the southeast room has an open fireplace with a massive stop-chamfered wooden lintel.
