Description

Nos 88 and 89 Higher Street are a pair of cottages built around the 1860s. They are constructed of brick in English bond, featuring rendered and banded brick and rubble end walls. The cottages have a tiled, gable-ended roof with a central brick chimney stack. They stand two storeys high and have a four-window range. The windows are two-light casements with glazing bars and slightly segmental brick-arch openings. The ground floor on the right has a plain wooden door, while the left side has a part-glazed wooden door. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear. These cottages are included for their group value.
