Description

Thornhill Farmhouse is a house that underwent mid 19th century remodelling of an earlier structure, likely from the 18th century. It is built of brick in English bond and features a tiled, gable-ended roof with end brick stacks and coping. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. On the ground floor, there are two 19th century four-pane sash windows beneath segmental brick heads. The upper floor contains three three-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, also under segmental brick heads. A central tiled, gabled wooden lattice porch with a part-glazed door adds to its character. The farmhouse has a rubble plinth and is included for its group value.
